Software Engineer (f/m/d)
We are an early-stage Berlin startup building an agentic operations platform that empowers industrial enterprises to automate complex energy procurement and operations. As an early engineering hire on our tight-knit team, you will shape the platform architecture from the ground up and own core systems from data models to production UI.
Overview
Why this role matters
Following our recent seed funding, we are expanding our core team to scale an intelligent operations layer that directly cuts operational overhead and energy costs for industrial enterprises. Because our platform handles live transactions and business-critical operations, you will build the resilient systems and rigorous data pipelines that make complex energy calculations traceable and trustworthy.
Responsibilities
What you'll do
Full-stack product delivery from foundational data pipelines and financial calculations up to the user interface.
- Build and ship production features end-to-end across TypeScript, Next.js/React, Python, and PostgreSQL.
- Architect reliable energy data ingestion pipelines capable of handling diverse meter formats, validation rules, and undocumented edge cases.
- Maintain and expand automated test suites gating every deployment, ensuring complete integrity for financial calculations.
- Design observability and monitoring so failures are immediately visible and calculations are fully traceable.
- Collaborate directly with founders, energy domain experts, and customers to translate real-world operational workflows into software.
Candidate profile
Who this is a fit for
- 3+ years shipping production software in collaborative tech company environments.
- Strong production experience with TypeScript spanning backend services, databases, and frontends.
- Proficient with Python (or ready to become productive in it immediately).
- Rigorous about automated testing, debugging, and data modeling where calculations impact finances.
- Comfortable with CI/CD, Docker, observability, and pragmatic, AI-assisted development workflows.
- Fluent in English, with pragmatic judgment that keeps early architectures simple yet solid.
Culture
What it's like to work here
High-ownership, fast-paced early-stage startup culture in Berlin. The environment combines daily standups, async collaboration, and regular in-person syncs to maintain high velocity. Decisions are pragmatically founder-led with high autonomy for engineers to own technical architecture and end-to-end delivery. People thrive here if they are proactive self-starters who take pride in data rigor and shipping reliable production systems.
What you get
The offer
- High autonomy to define technical architecture and own systems end-to-end.
- Direct collaboration with the founding team and energy experts without bureaucratic layers.
- Vibrant AI-focused hub environment in Berlin combining async workflows with regular in-person syncs.
- True ownership and massive influence over product direction at an early venture stage.

A quick note
This probably isn't for you if:
- You prefer siloed task assignments and handoffs rather than owning features through production monitoring.
- You treat data integrity casually or cut corners on automated testing and calculation traceability.
- You want rigid corporate hierarchy rather than a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment.
