Platform Engineer (m/f/d)
Build the production-grade infrastructure that powers artificial intelligence in the manufacturing sector, taking complete ownership of developer experience and scaling advanced GPU workloads.
Overview
Why this role matters
We are building the AI-first software layer for modern manufacturing, requiring an infrastructure that is both highly resilient and developer-friendly. As our Platform Engineer, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI systems, complex video processing, and robust cloud infrastructure, ensuring our engineering team can ship and debug at high velocity. Without you, we cannot scale our Kubernetes clusters, optimize our CDNs, or seamlessly integrate MLOps workflows to support our rapid growth.
Responsibilities
What you'll do
The entire lifecycle of our cloud infrastructure, from foundational AWS architecture to local developer tooling.
- Design, build, and maintain our scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform.
- Manage, scale, and troubleshoot our Kubernetes clusters to support intensive GPU workloads and streaming data/video processing systems.
- Own and optimize our CI/CD pipelines to guarantee fast, safe, and automated deployments.
- Build and implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using Prometheus and other observability tools for full system visibility.
- Configure, secure, and optimize our CDN infrastructure using CloudFront, Fastly, or Cloudflare to ensure low-latency data delivery.
- Improve the daily developer experience by creating clean workflows, automation, and debugging tools for the software and data science teams.
Candidate profile
Who this is a fit for
- 8-10 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
- Deep production expertise in AWS and infrastructure-as-code workflows using Terraform.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling Kubernetes in production environments.
- Strong Linux sysadmin, networking, storage, and configuration management fundamentals.
- Experienced with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and time-series databases like TimescaleDB.
- Collaborative communicator comfortable aligning with remote engineering and data science peers.
Culture
What it's like to work here
At the company, the culture is built on deep ownership and flexibility, where engineers are trusted to own outcomes without micromanagement or clock-watching. The team operates on a highly flexible schedule, allowing people to start and end their days as they see fit. While the role is based hybrid in Berlin, most of the development team is located elsewhere, making intentional remote collaboration vital. Decisions are made collaboratively within the team of highly experienced, staff-level peers, with the Head of Software facilitating the conversations and escalating to the CTO only for major architectural turning points. It is an environment where proactive builders thrive and passive caretakers do not.
What you get
The offer
- High autonomy and flexibility with a schedule where you start and end your day as you see fit.
- Collaborative decision-making alongside a team of highly experienced, staff-level engineering peers.
- Direct access to the Head of Software and CTO without layers of micromanagement.
- Hybrid work model based in Berlin, supported by intentional, modern remote collaboration tools.
- Premium benefits including Urban Sports Club membership and collaborative quarterly team retreats.
Skills
AWS · Terraform · Kubernetes · CI/CD · Linux Sysadmin Fundamentals · PostgreSQL/MySQL · MLOps · GPU Workloads · CDN (CloudFront/Fastly/Cloudflare) · Streaming Data / Video Processing Systems
A quick note
This probably isn't for you if:
- You are a passive caretaker who prefers waiting for tickets rather than proactively identifying and fixing infrastructure bottlenecks.
- You require rigid, structured 9-to-5 working hours or need hand-holding and constant micromanagement to deliver results.
- You prefer working in isolation; this role requires tight, active collaboration across distributed software and data science teams.
