(Senior) Financial Accountant (f/m/d)

As we scale our globally distributed operations, we need to transition from standard bookkeeping to a highly automated, robust financial system. This role exists to bring expert German GAAP (HGB) precision in-house, ensuring our financial operations match the speed of our product engineering and AI-assisted workflows. Without you, we cannot build the scalable, automated internal controls needed to support our next phase of international growth.

You will own the integrity of our financial records, end-to-end German accounting processes, and the transition toward automated financial operations.

• Record and manage all monthly journal entries in strict accordance with German GAAP (HGB).
• Own and optimize our DATEV infrastructure for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Build, implement, and monitor robust internal control systems (ICS/IKS) tailored to our startup environment.
• Prepare comprehensive monthly closing activities and partner with external tax advisors on annual financial statements.
• Drive process automation projects across our finance tech stack using Excel, Google Sheets, and integrations.

• HGB Accounting Expert: 5+ years of financial accounting experience, deeply focused on German Commercial Code and monthly closings.
• DATEV Superuser: Advanced technical knowledge of DATEV with a track record of streamlining and automating workflows.
• Systems Builder: Proven capability to independently design, implement, and monitor complex internal control systems (ICS/IKS).
• Bilingual Communicator: Excellent command of German and professional proficiency in English.
• Agile Operator: Prior startup experience with a bias for outcome-over-ego and high-ownership environments.
• Berlin-based: Able to collaborate in-person at our Berlin office 2-3 days per week.
